Kenyans online community today woke up to more bad news. Renowned programmer and blogger, Idd Salim, passed on last night at St. Marys Hospital, after a few days of a chest infection.

Idd Salim ran a personal blog, Iddsalim.com, where he mostly wrote about IT related matters, with words any layman would understand.
He was never shy to give his opinion.

He was also very active on Twitter, and his last tweet came just yesterday.

Idd has worked with, and developed IT systems for some big companies in Kenya. On his Linkedin page, he lists ISP Kenya, Grand Casino, SimpleSoft System, Symbiotic and Xema labs as some of his clients.

The fact that the coder charged over Sh10,000 per hour for some jobs, with a set minimum hours, shows that he knew his stuff.

Idd Salim will be laid to rest today at Kariokor cemetery.

May he rest in peace.
