Steve Mbogo Moves to Court in Bid to Stop Media Houses from Airing an Exposé

June 16, 2017

Starehe Parliamentary aspirant Steve Mbogo has moved to the High Court seeking to bar four media houses from airing an investigative expose about him.

According to Citizen Digital, the flamboyant ODM candidate wants the High Court to bar Nation Media Group Limited, MediaMax, The Standard Group and the Star barred from airing the story as it will cause him untold suffering.

The controversial businessman claims that the defendants have indicated to him through telephone calls and text messages that they are working on an investigative story to link him to a defilement case in which he was cleared by the court over five years ago.

In documents filed at the court, Mbogo has asked the court to issue an order “restraining the defendants from covering the current proceedings on grounds of necessity for privacy”.

The political first-timer will be battling it out with Jubilee’s Charles Njagua Kanyi alias Jaguar and activist Boniface Mwangi for the Starehe seat.
