The world’s best teacher Peter Mokaya Tabichi looks set to end the year on a high following his latest accolade.
As his star keeps shining, Tabichi is now the Dettol Soaperhero Brand Ambassador for 2020.
Reckitt Benckiser, through its popular Dettol brand, appointed Tabichi to spearhead its student-led school hygiene campaign aimed at reducing hygiene-related ailments in pupils across the country.
“Dettol has over the years focused its interventions on school hygiene programs, targeting children in both urban and rural areas. Today, we are honoured to partner with the world’s best teacher in the fight against hygiene-based diseases in our schools,” Reckitt Benckiser Africa health expansion director Dele Adeyole said.
The initiative that was launched in August 2019 has so far enlisted over 2 million primary school children countrywide.
Tabichi said he was honoured after he accepted what he termed as a huge responsibility.
“For me, teaching is a powerful job, I want to be part of building the next generation, in itself that, making sure that the students are learning valuable knowledge and skills to make better future is a scary situation. It will be my great honour to work with various partners to ensure that we are reducing sanitation-related ailments among school-going children across the country,” he said.
Tabichi, 36, is also the first ‘Champion for Children in Conflicts and Crisis’ for the global fund for education.
