Gospel singer Bahati’s baby mama, Diana Marua, has spoken out about having post-partum depression following the birth of her firstborn, Heaven.
Speaking to fans via her YouTube channel, the mother of two said she was overwhelmed despite having a husband and a nanny.
“When I got Heaven, that was the worst time of my life. I got post-partum depression. I had a husband and a nanny,” she said, adding that at the time, Bahati was nowhere to be seen.
“The support system is key. My hubby started being busy, he was coming home late and had early mornings. You’ve done everything and the baby is still crying.”
Marua, however, said that Bahati has since learnt the ropes, and after the birth of their second baby, Majesty, he was supportive.
She urged men with wives who have given birth to be there for their families.
“If your woman has given birth, get paternity leave, your wife needs all the support she can get.
“Be an inspiration to your woman. It’s a matter of time before you see your child grow. These little babies have nothing to do with whatever is going on in your life. Speak life to your children,” she added.
Last year, Diana Marua disclosed that she walked out of her matrimonial home with Bahati because of his busy celebrity schedule that saw him spend little time at home while she struggled as a new mom with their daughter Heaven.
