It started with the Nairobi Business Community and now more business communities are popping up to demand their rights.
Last week, dreadlocked businessmen and women calling themselves the Nairobi Business Community stole the show when NASA supporters took to the streets to demonstrate. They claimed that they were out to protect their businesses in the city centre from looters and hooligans but Kenyans were not convinced.
This week, a group of international investors calling themselves the Sportpesa Business Community have come out to make their demands as well.
The group, which specializes in betting on the popular Kenyan bookmaker Sportpesa, called a press conference a few days ago to petition the government and sportpesa to include the live betting option. This is aimed at curbing losses for the ‘millionaires in waiting’ who insist they are peaceful demonstrators.
