There’s a popular online joke that Tekno and a decent performance are miles apart.

This after the Nigerian artist, Augustine Miles Kelechi, lived up to Nigerian artists’ reputation of staging below par concerts in Kenya. The only exception to date is Wizkid, and I personally uphold that Nigerian music in Kenya should start and end with Wizkid, and possibly Patoranking.

Last Saturday, Kenyans who never learn, were taught another hard lesson about appreciating their own artists. With the main man on the night disappointing, Kenyan acts – The Kansoul and Camp Mulla – proved their mettle and stole the show from Tekno Miles.

Tekno Miles performed for approximately 30 minutes and half the time there was a mix up between the main DJ – Crème De La Crème and Tekno’s band.

Even Tekno’s stage presence left much to be desired as half the time one could tell he was lip-syncing to the playback.

Both Tekno Miles and DJ Crème De La Crème were quick to shift the blame for the disappointing show, with Creme taking to twitter to claim that Tekno was being a diva.

So bad was the show that a Kenyan on twitter has shared a detailed account of how it went down at the Ngong Racecourse.

The tweep, @ItsMorara, gave his account in a twitter thread that has been trending since Saturday. (Forgive him for misidentifying  Karun).
