One of this year’s top performers in Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) has requested Deputy President William Ruto to pay for her high school education because her mother is not financially well off.
Anne Muthoni, a former pupil at Utafiti Boarding School in Makueni County scored an impressive 425 marks out of a possible 500.
She says had written to DP Ruto in the past after he visited their school, requesting him – in advance – to be there for her when she joins high school.
The letter through Makueni County Commissioner’s office. However, the 14-year-old is yet to receive a response from the DP’s office.
Muthoni, a former head girl, hopes to join the prestigious Alliance Girls’ High School and later on pursue a course in medicine and surgery in university on her way to becoming a neurosurgeon.
Her mother is a single parent, who solely looks after her four children, with the eldest being a KCSE 2016 candidate.
