Social media managers have found themselves in sticky situations after confusing their company profiles for their personal accounts.

Evalyne Cherotich found herself on the wrong side of Twitter over the weekend when she tweeted to KCB bank thanking them for information on the time taken to open an account.

It was a very innocent question, except Evalyne used her company’s Twitter account. Not any company, but one of KCB’s biggest rivals, Barclays Bank. As someone pointed out, if you manage a company Twitter account, it’s better you use a separate device for your personal account.
