The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has released the list of all individuals who have applied for the Chief Justice, Deputy Chief Justice and Supreme Court judge positions. The application deadline was Friday July 8, after it was extended by a day due to the Eid holiday on Thursday.
14 people have applied for the Chief Justice position, 15 for the Deputy CJ, and 21 have applied for a seat in the Supreme Court to replace retired Judge Philip Tunoi. Former National Assembly speaker Kenneth Marende was expected to be on the list but is actually not.
