Born Jorgen Mario Bergoglio, the 266th Pope has been christened ‘The People’s Pope’ for his well documented humility.
Pope Francis will arrive at JKIA at 5pm then head to State House for a welcome ceremony and courtesy call. Tomorrow is however the most anticipated day of his visit, as he will hold a mammoth public mass at the University of Nairobi grounds.
200,000 are expected to be accommodated at the grounds, with overflows at Central and Uhuru Parks.
The Pope will later visit the UN at Gigiri, where he is expected to talk about climate change.
On Friday, he visits Kangemi Slum and then hold a meeting with the youth at Kasarani.
Indeed, Welcome to Kenya Pope Francis.
