It was in August 1974 and election supervisor Mr N J Montogomery had just informed Moi, in the presence of other senior government leaders, that Mzee Kenyatta had been nominated unopposed as the only presidential candidate for october 1974 general elections.
Mr. Montogomery requested Moi to pass the information to his boss, and the VP soon got on the phone.
Some spoilers and forgive me for saying this, but Moi has that tone of a typical political sycophant. I therefore understand where the likes of Kamotho were coming from. Their boss was once in their position and expected similar treatment.
