Yesterday State House insider Dennis Itumbi took the Norwegian government by its horns after revealing that it supports and funds an illegally operating NGO known as Haki Africa. This NGO is said to be operating without a certificate of registration, hence its existence is against NGO Act Section 22(1). Itumbi also went ahead to allege that Norway is taking part in supporting the rampant terror attacks that have been maiming our nation.
Earlier in April, Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) raided Haki Africa offices in Mombasa and seized computers, hard disks, documents and financial files for investigations on tax evasion. Also, the government froze the NGO’s bank accounts so as to disable the flow of finances. However, despite the Kenyan government efforts to halt the funding, Norway’s ambassador to Kenya said that his government will continue giving its support to the NGO.
Ranting about the matter on his twitter page, here is what Mr. Itumbi had to say.
Norway’s ambassador to Kenya Victor Rønneberg says his Gvt will continue funding Haki Africa despite GOK actions,I ask #NorwaySupportsTerror
