Kenya Airways, the pride of Africa, has been on the receiving end since 2012 on one particular issue, laying off 400 workers in an aim of cutting costs and other work related developments. This was later pushed to the corridors of justice by the workers union to revert the retrenchment.

This case was however brought to a close by a three judge bench in the Court of Appeal over the weekend after they ruled in favour of the air travel company.

According to the appeal judges, James Rike of the industrial court who made the ruling had erred in law when delivering his judgement in favour of the plaintiffs at the time.
