Recently, news went round that the US was monitoring quite a number of African Presidents’ phones. These allegations have not been confirmed yet, but things seem to have taken quite a different turn.
Kiambaa member of parliament, Paul Koinange is calling on parliament to invite the US Ambassador to Kenya, Robert Godec, to explain allegations that the US is spying on mobile communications of top leaders including President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.
The legislature is also recommending that the Kenyan Ambassador to the UN, through the Foreign Relations and Defense Committee initiate measures and register Kenya’s protest and seek to have the issue appear before the UN General Assembly.
It will be interesting how this develops.
