July 17, 2020

Deputy President William Ruto has called on MPs and Senators to work together following Jubilee Party’s move to reshuffle its leadership in both Houses of Parliament.

In a tweet on Thursday, July 16, Ruto asked the legislators to focus on their oversight, legislative and representation roles.

The DP also quoted Colossians 3:23 urging the legislators to work with their hearts in the new committees.

“With the changes in Parliamentary leadership including committee membership & leadership now concluded, I urge all MPs NOT to be divided but work TOGETHER in serving the PEOPLE.

“Col.3:23, Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for God, not human masters,” tweeted Ruto.

Ruto’s message comes a day after the National Assembly Committee compositions were communicated.

National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi directed that elections of chairpersons to various House departmental committees be completed by Friday, July 17 ahead of the fumigation of the chambers on Saturday, July 18.
