Police have arrested four out of five suspects who on July 3, 2020, raped a woman in turns as her husband and children watched.

Armed with crude weapons, the five-man gang is said to have broken into the victims’ house in Njoro, Nakuru County in the middle of the night.

They attacked the man and tied him up before ransacking the house, stealing Sh34,000 in cash, a D-light solar panel, gas cooker, a mountain bike, and mobile phones among other electronics.

According to a report from the DCI, the suspects then forced the couple’s children to witness as they raped their mother in turns before slaughtering a chicken, which they prepared and ate.

Acting on a tip-off from Nyumba Kumi, DCI detectives on Monday conducted a raid at 4 a.m and arrested William Kihara Ndegwa (26), David Ng’ang’a Ngure (22), Eliud Njoroge (36) and Geoffrey Mwangi (36).

Kihara was reportedly subjected to “mob injustice” by members of the public before the officers rescued him and took him to hospital.

A manhunt for the fifth suspect has since been launched.
