Gengetone stars Ochungulo Family on Wednesday ushered in the Jamhuri Day holiday with a sizzling new banger dubbed ‘Ngwai’.

‘Ngwai’ is street slang for Marijuana, making the group’s new single rather self-explanatory.

“Ngwaii is the medicine fi di Nation. Legalize di natural healing. If you know you know,” said the group of Dmore, Benzema and Nellythegoon.

In ‘Ngwai’, Ochungulo Family once again prove why they are arguably the most versatile, creative, and humorous(my personal opinion) of all the Gengetone groups.

Someone once said the difference between Ochugulo and Ethic is that Ochungulo never sound the same. ‘Ngwai’ is proof of this.

While some sections have naturally rebuked the group for letting down anti-drugs crusader Stivo Simple Boy, a majority were still banging to the marijuana anthem on Thursday judging by the over 65k views in just 24 hours and the trending hashtag #Ngwai on Twitter.

‘Ngwai’ comes a month after another Gengetone group, Sailors, dropped a marijuana anthem, ‘Wakiritho’, with Octopizzo. KFCB boss Ezekiel Mutua must be having quite the Gengtone headache. Maybe some Ngwai can help him.
