As Kenyans celebrated Mashujaa Day on Sunday, October 20, Nairobi County women representative Esther Passaris Muthoni was celebrating turning a year older.
Born in 1964, the social entrepreneur turned 55 years old on Sunday and had more than one reason to celebrate. In addition to celebrating her special day, Esther Passaris also celebrated her parents for bringing her into this world.
In doing so, Passaris also shared pictures of her parents, giving her followers and fans a never before seen look at her father and mother. Passaris’ ethnicity has for the longest time been a source of speculation from Kenyans, and she finally revealed that she is part Greek, Dutch and Kenyan.
Passaris was born in Mombasa to a Greek father and a Kenyan(Kikuyu) Dutch woman. Her mother was born in Machakos.
Taking to social media, Passaris lauded her parents for always being there to support her.
“55 years ago today, the love between a young handsome Greek man and a Kenyan Dutch woman brought me into this world. Never missing any milestones in my life and always there to support me in the face of my challenges and controversies, I celebrate my parents today for raising me the best that they could,” she wrote.
Esther Passaris photo collage of her parents also included hers as a toddler.
