A woman from Nyahururu County on Tuesday 29 October 2019 stunned a court after pleading with the magistrate to lock up her son.
Teresiah Wanjira told the court that her son, Paul Gitau, is stubborn and irresponsible. She said she was fed up with his abusive behavior.
Ms Wanjira said she had forgiven her son for a number of offenses with hopes that he would change but Gitau has proven her otherwise.
“My son had been arrested for other offences and I forgave him, he seems not to be ready to change any time soon, this has now become a trend which I cannot tolerate,” Wanjira testified in court.
According to the mother, she wants to be relieved of the ‘big burden’ that is her son.
Mr Gitau confessed to breaking into her mother’s house, stealing Sh1000 and two chickens.
The Court ruled that the case will be mentioned on Wednesday 6 November when there is more evidence on the case to be presented.
