A boda boda operator committed suicide after being found in a compromising situation with a minor in Ololoipang’i village, Narok South sub-county.

The man is said to have waylaid the standard 8 pupil at Ololoipang’i primary school to his home on Monday evening before locals who saw them entering the house raised the alarm.

“Some villagers saw the man dropping the girl at his house with his motorbike and got concerned when the two entered the house together and locked themselves in,” said Joseph Kones, area Nyumba Kumi Chairman.

Kones said the deceased took his own life after villagers started baying for his blood for allegedly engaging in a sexual act with the minor.

The enraged residents reportedly stormed the house and after gaining access, they found the man dangling from the roof of his house with the girl crying beside him.

The incident was reported to the police who visited the scene, recovered the body and arrested the minor for further interrogation at nearby Ololung’a police station.

“The girl has also been arrested by the police and will be taken to hospital to ascertain whether she had been defiled or not,” the village elder added.

The body of the deceased was moved to Narok County Referral Hospital mortuary awaiting post mortem examination.
