Two police officers are in custody for allegedly shooting and killing a toddler in Maziwa area of Kasarani.

A police report indicates that the officers were on patrol on Sunday night when they shot in the air after being confronted by a crowd, with a stray bullet hitting the toddler aged 2 years and 11 months.

“The officers were shooting in the air to scare people who were following them,” part of the police statement reads.

However, witnesses have given a different account of what transpired saying the cops were involved in an altercation with some women.

According to the locals, the cops who are well known in the area had an argument with the woman at a Chang’aa den while on their bribe collection rounds.

Another witness took to social media to narrate the incident.
