The already large Sonko family is months away from growing larger if a recent announcement by the Nairobi governor is anything to go by.

Taking to social media Sunday to congratulate newlyweds Kirinyaga Governor Waiguru and lawyer Kamotho Waiganjo, Mike Sonko indicated that his wife – Primrose Mbuvi – is expectant.

The Nairobi county chief also intimated that Waiguru is heavy with child as he invited her to enjoy the free maternity services on offer at Pumwani Hospital.

According to Sonko, his wife is set to enjoy the “state of the art services” at Pumwani when she delivers their baby in a few months.

“Before the honeymoon begins let me take this earliest opportunity on behalf of my family and the great people of Nairobi to Congratulate my colleague from Kirinyaga H.E Anne Waiguru for getting married to Wakili Waiganjo. May the Lord bless your marriage,” wrote Sonko.

“May you have a safe delivery on your bundle of joy on the way. You are welcome to enjoy the state of the art maternity facilities at Pumwani hospital where the 1st Lady of Nairobi is also set to deliver there in a couple of months to come.”

Waiguru exchanged her marriage vows with Waiganjo on Saturday in a highly publicised traditional ceremony graced by the who’s who of Kenya’s political scene.
