MP Endorses CS Matiang’i For President in 2022

July 30, 2019

Interior CS Fred Matiang’i has what it takes to be the next President of Kenya, Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati has said.

Speaking when he hosted a delegation from Bobasi Constituency at his rural home in Kisii on Sunday, Arati urged the top-performing minister to run for the presidency in the next General Elections.

The lawmaker said Matiang’i stands a chance of being chosen to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Mr Arati also warned legislators allied to Deputy President William Ruto to stop fighting CS Matiang’i.

“The President expressed his confidence in Dr Matiangi’s leadership by elevating him to supervise the work of all national Government ministries due to his good performance since 2013. Why are some of our brothers fighting him?” posed Arati.

“It is worth noting that all the legislators fighting Dr Matiang’i in Kisii and Nyamira Counties are serving their first term in office, they should be aware that the people of Gusii land are not happy with them for fighting their own brother”.
