A class two pupil this week accidentally caused the death of his classmate while playing at their school in Suba South, Homa Bay County.

The older pupil aged 10 reportedly pushed his nine-year-old classmate against the wall. The learners had been playing before they clashed in their classroom at Koga Primary School.

The injured pupil collapsed and was rushed Seka Health Centre where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Homa Bay County Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) boss Daniel Wachira said the student will not be charged with murder as he had no intention to cause harm to the minor.

“We have informed the dead boy’s parents of the incident, they have decided not to press any changes against the other pupil,” Mr Wachira said.

The boy’s body was moved to St. Camilus Hospital mortuary awaiting post-mortem.
