Deputy President William Ruto fit right in when pastors from the African Divine Church (ADC) visited his Karen residence on Tuesday.

The DP hosted more than 4,000 pastors from the church popularly known as Roho Maler for a prayer service and the launch of African Divine Clergy Sacco.

During the event, Ruto, who looked the part as he donned the church’s conspicuous red and green hat, join the clergy in their signature dance, praise, and worship.

The DP danced effortlessly as the ecstatic church members pounded their drums and stamped their feet.

On matters money, DP Ruto urged the church leaders to use Saccos to save up and also obtain development loans to secure their future financially.

“We know as members of the clergy you do not get enough money like other Kenyans. To help you, you should come up with a program of raising funds and later take loans when in need,” said Ruto.

“SACCOs in Kenya have raised Ksh.500 billion and we want you as the Divine church to join in the mobilization of local resources through SACCOs so that we can fund our development.”

Dr Ruto also presented them with a Sacco certificate of registration.

On its part, The African Divine Church of Kenya asked Ruto and other political leaders not to shy away from participating in the development of churches.
