Police in Eldoret have in their custody a lawyer accused of killing his fellow advocate last week.

The accused; Abel Mogaka, was arraigned on Wednesday before Eldoret Chief Magistrate Charles Obulutsa. The prosecution requested for 10 days to complete investigations as well as modify the charges against the suspect.

Abel Mogaka allegedly stabbed and seriously injured his colleague after a confrontation ensued between them during a party hosted by their fellow advocate on Friday, May 17.

However, the victim succumbed on Tuesday, May 21 while receiving treatment at Mediheal Hospital in Eldoret.

The prosecution was set to charge Mr Mogaka with stabbing and injuring the deceased. They are now considering preferring murder charges.

The motive behind the attack was not immediately established.

The court will rule on the two applications today, Thursday, May 23.
