New kids on the block Ochungulo Family are not resting on their laurels.

The group comprising Nellythegoon, Dmore and Benzema represent the new age of Kenya’s street music; Gengetone they call it. They have finally released the much awaited ‘Aluta’, a collaboration with newcomers Gwaash and Exray of Boondocks Gang.

Aluta is a famous Kenyan slang derived from the prominent Portuguese phrase ‘A Luta Continue’ meaning the struggle continues and used during Mozambique’s war of independence.

Out of the phrase, Ochungulo Family has a created a song to represent the ‘Mpaka Che'(Till Morning) party lifestyle of the Kenyan youth.

The combination of the artistes involved in the song is a perfect blend which was suggested by the fans due to the rapidly growing Gengetone sound. The Koroga Festival headliners Ochungulo Family are also working with fellow Gengetone act, Ethic Entertainment on the remix of ‘Pandana’.

In the meantime, check out ‘Aluta’ below, directed by Ivan Odie (callivan).
