EACC detectives on Thursday arrested six senior officials of the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) for flouting laws.

The suspects are Joyce Nyambache Osinde(Assistant Director and Head of Procurement) and tender committee members Stanley K. Kibe, Leo Kibet Boruett, Vincent Ngundi, Jane Jeptanui Rotich and Philip Kiplangat. They allegedly flouted procurement regulations during the evaluation of a tender for renovation of CA’s stand at the Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK) show.

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) forwarded the file to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) on January 16, 2019.

“The DPP in his letter dated 6th May 2019 returned the file to EACC and gave consent to arraign the suspects in Court,” said EACC in a statement.

The commission is still looking three more officials over alleged irregularities. They include: Mutua Muthusi, the former Director, Consumer and Public Affairs at CAK, John Omo, the CAK Secretary and Peris Nkonge.

The commission said the six who are in police custody were being processed and will be charged in court.
