Class Five Boy Beaten to Death by Relatives for Stealing his Grandfather’s Phone

Authorities in Kisii County are probing an incident where an 11-year-old minor was killed by his relatives on Monday.

Citizen Digital reports that three of the boy’s relatives beat him up for allegedly stealing a phone belonging to his grandfather. Kisii Police County Commander Martin Kibet confirmed the incident saying they have two suspects in custody.

“We have arrested two suspects and are still hunting for the third suspect who is still at large.”

A police report shows the deceased’s grandfather Charles Getugi and two others George Getugi and Jared Getugi beat him to death on Monday evening.

The deceased was a class five pupil at Amariba Primary School. His body had visible injuries on the face and upper limbs.

Police moved the body to Kisii County Referral Hospital pending an autopsy.

One of the arrested suspects is the deceased’s grandfather, Charles Getugi.
