Another case of a domestic quarrel turned tragic has claimed the lives of two people in Central Kadem, Migori County.

This after a 35-year-old man took his own life on Monday morning, hours after brutally killing his wife.

Central Kadem location Chief Hezron Odek said the man, Jack Marire, on Sunday night attacked his wife who was asleep, hacking her several times with a machete.

She reportedly died while being rushed to the Migori Level Four Hospital.

The man’s body was later found hanging from a rope inside a gold mine in what is believed to be an apparent murder-suicide.

The Chief added that preliminary investigations had established that the deceased couple, who have been operating a shop at Nyakwere trading centre in Nyatike, have been having disagreements over some money amounting to Sh240,000.

Mr. Odek, however, added that they are yet to establish what the cash was for and why it was bringing conflict between the two.

Officials suspect the money was with the woman since the man was previously heard by family members demanding for it from his 27-year-old wife.

The bodies of the deceased were taken to Migori Level Four Hospital mortuary pending autopsy.
