Apparently, the prosperity of Kenya as a nation lies in numbers. This is according to billionaire tycoon Jimmy Wanjigi who has implored Kenyans to give birth to more children so as to make the country great.
In a video circulating on social media, Mr Wanjigi argues that a larger population would mean Kenya has bargaining power like other populous countries.
He notes that Kenya has the resources to feed and house a bigger population.
“If you ask me we are not enough. Greatness is in numbers. We have enough resources in this country to create numbers,” Wanjigi said.
He further faulted the narrative by the Western world that family planning is necessary because the continent does not have enough resources.
“Over the years Wazungus have told us about family planning. They tell us not to make many children. That we get one or two each. That you don’t have money, land, and food. That’s fake. We have enough resources in this country to create numbers,” he claimed.
The son of former Cabinet Minister, Maina Wanjigi, advised Kenyans to try all means necessary to have more children even if it means outside marriages.
He cited countries like China, India, Ethiopia and Nigeria that have large populations yet they are developed.
“China is great because of numbers. Don’t let anyone lie to you. Go to Ethiopia they are 100 million. Check Nigeria, I was with friends of ours from there. Friends of President (Uhuru Kenyatta) and I. They told us they are estimated to be 230 million people. But here we are dealing with 42 million people.”
“Get married and make babies. Numbers is a market. Don’t be cheated. Let’s make babies in the family unit. If we don’t succeed there we do it elsewhere. These children are our power today and our power tomorrow. Clap for me for that. We want many children in this republic,” said Wanjigi.
