A diehard fan of Radio Ramogi is in police custody at Bondo Police Station after she was arrested for allegedly impersonating a presenter of the Royal Media Services vernacular station.

Florence Awino Agunda, 26, who is popularly known as ‘Flo Nyar Agunda’, is said to have approached a local businessman claiming to be Lydia Akoth, who hosts the popular Donse Donse show.

The area businessman, identified as Mr. George Ouka, is the father of one of two university students who perished in River Yala last month.

Ms Agunda reportedly went to Ouka on Friday, November 30, 2018, claiming that she wanted to assist the family to get help from Radio Ramogi, following the loss of his son.

According to Mr. Ouka, the offer sounded suspicious prompting him to track the suspect after she had left the shop. He contacted Ms Agunda and lured her back to the shop on Saturday and that is when she was nabbed by local residents who frogmarched her to Bondo Police Station.

Confirming the incident, Bondo OCPD Harriet Kinya said the suspect was found in possession of fake business cards bearing the name of Lydiah Akoth.

Kinya assured that thorough investigations would be conducted to establish the extent of Agunda’s criminal activities.

The OCPD added that Flor Nyar Agunda will be arraigned in court this week.
