Former KANU Chairman Jackson Kibor has officially divorced his third wife, Naomi Jeptoo Kibor.

An Eldoret Court approved Mr Kibor’s divorce on Tuesday, bringing to an end 43 years of marriage with Jeptoo, who the wealthy tycoon accused of deserting their matrimonial home together with their six children.

The divorce also comes a little over a year after the Uasin Gishu tycoon convinced an Eldoret court to dissolve his 52-Year-Old marriage with his second wife, Josephine Jepkoech.

While granting Mr Kibor his divorce, Eldoret Principal Magistrate Naomy Wairimu said the marriage “is irretrievable”.

“Having heard both parties, I have made the findings that the marriage between the plaintiff and defendant has irretrievably broken down and I would, therefore, allow the prayer of the plaintiff to dissolve the marriage,” she ordered.

Mr Kibor was able to convince the court that his wife, who left their matrimonial home voluntarily, became hostile and generally treated him with “utmost cruelty, contempt, neglect”, which caused him “untold psychological suffering”.

Through lawyer Stanley Kagunza, Mr Kibor also claimed that Jeptoo had been denying him conjugal rights and that she has not been supportive of his projects as the head of the family.

In her defense, Jeptoo said their marriage has been rosy and that she still loves her husband. She told the court that she did not deny Mr Kibor his conjugal rights as he alleged.

“This divorce cause is totally baseless and untenable as there are no grounds… I still love my husband and I do care for him together with his six children,” said Jeptoo.

After the ruling, the 85-year-old Kibor expressed his relief and joked that he will now live longer after divorcing the “big-headed woman.”

“I am happy today the court has granted me another divorce from my wife who has been extremely hostile and intolerant, causing me serious psychological suffering,” Mr Kibor said.

“I can now confidently say I will live for more years after divorcing this big-headed woman.”

The Octagenarian has had four wives now, one of whom is deceased. He is currently married to Eunita aged 36.

“I will not marry another wife because am contented with my fourth wife Eunita,” said Kibor.

“My body had has really grown thin but now I will regain and live longer,” he added.
