A man in Rongai area of Nakuru town on Wednesday left residents in shock after killing his wife before hanging himself in an apparent murder-suicide.
30-year-old Robert Nyakundi is reported to have stabbed his wife Wilter Kerubo, 26, seven times using a kitchen knife before taking his own life.
According to neighbours, the two engaged in a domestic fight at around 7 pm before they went silent. When they went to check on the couple at around 11 pm, they found the woman’s body lying in a pool of blood on a chair and the man’s body with a rope around its neck within the compound.
The incident rendered the couple’s four-year-old boy an orphan.
The motive of the murder-suicide could not be immediately established but investigations have been launched.
Still in Nakuru, police are looking for a middle-aged suspect who slit the throat of his wife and seriously injured her lover after catching them engaging in sexual intercourse on his matrimonial bed.
The incident happened on Wednesday night at Kapregerego Village in Tinet Location, Kuresoi South Sub-County, Nakuru County.
Robert Mutai, area Nyumba Kumi Initiative elder, said the suspect, Paul Maritim found his wife, Janet Maritim, with her lover at 11 pm before attacking them armed with a club and a panga.
