Celebrated news presenter Betty Kyallo is expected to make her debut at MediaMax-owned TV station K24 in about three weeks time.
According to sources, the former KTN news anchor will headline K24’s Weekend Edition.
Reports indicate K24’s English evening news team will be revamped with Betty Kyallo set to replace Anjlee Gadhvi, who currently hosts the Weekend Edition from Friday.
Gadhvi will reportedly be pushed to Sunday as Betty is expected to take up the 9 pm bulletin on Fridays and Saturdays. Betty Kyallo has since confirmed she will make her highly anticipated comeback on November 23rd.
She will fill the gap left by Richard Kagoe, who joined BBC, and Michelle Morgan, who quit in September to pursue personal interests.
The MediaMax TV station has since poached Rose Gakuo from KBC who is currently hosting the 9 pm prime time news on Monday through to Wednesday.
Eric Njoka takes over the week alongside Karen Karimi Knaust on Thursday before making a return on Sunday.
The Kijabe Street-based TV station is undergoing an extensive makeover and has been giving viewers teasers of what to expect with a series of short clips.
The revamp is aimed at updating studio equipment, redesigning the television studios as well as possibly introducing brand new shows, anchors and presenters to give the channel a fresh appeal.
