A woman found guilty of molesting an 11-year-old boy and infecting him with an STI has finally been sentenced.

Roseline Museve, 42, was found guilty of defiling the minor on September 2, 2017, at Shiseso village in Kakamega South. The court heard from the prosecution team that Museve lured the minor into a thicket, removed his shorts, and defiled him. She also infected the 11-year-old with Syphilis.

While convicting the suspect, Kakamega Principal Magistrate Hazel Wandere said that the prosecution had proved its case beyond reasonable doubt.

“The minor clearly identified the perpetrator,” said the magistrate.

Ms Wandere added that the medical documents produced in court indicated that the minor was indeed defiled and infected by a person known to him.

“I find that the prosecution has established the ingredients of penetration, age and identification of the perpetrator as required by the law. According to the birth certificate produced as exhibit, the complainant was aged 11 years when the offence was committed,” said the Magistrate.

In mitigation, Museve asked for leniency, saying she was remorseful and that she had a young family to take care of.

Ms Wandere was, however, having none of it and sentenced her to serve life in jail.

The sex pest was given 14 days to file an appeal.
