The Odi dance craze, which I still insist should have ended long ago together with British colonialism, has finally caught up with revered media personality Pinky Ghelani.

The dance was originally created a long time ago by dancers and gospel music artistes Timeless Noel, Hype Ochi, and Jabidii. The craze even reached the upper echelons of government after Deputy President William Ruto showed his Odi moves in March.

After several months of what I had hoped was the end of the craze, Sauti Sol came and revived it in their new music video with Nyashinski.

Assisted by the impressive dance moves of Aggie the dance queen(otherwise known as the girl in a striped jumpsuit) the music video for Short N Sweet has taken the industry by storm. It has also birthed the Odi dance challenge.

Last night, Pinky Ghelani showcased her Odi moves in a video posted on the gram and featuring Sauti Sol’s Chimano.
