“My Life is in Danger!” TV Girl Doreen Gatwiri Accuses MP Husband of Assault

February 28, 2018

All is not well in the marital union of media personality Doreen Gatwiri and Mwingi Central MP Gideon Mulyungi. This after the former Ebru TV Swahili news anchor accused the legislator of assault.

Taking to social media to expose the MP’s dirty linen, Gatwiri claimed that Mulyungi battered her on Monday night at their Karen home. She added that she sustained head injuries to the back of her ear and sought treatment at Avenue Hospital.

“Guys My life is in danger. This evening at about 9.50pm my husband MWINGI CENTRAL MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT GIDEON MULYUNGI assaulted me at our Karen Home over domestic quarrel and I sustained head injuries at the back of my ear resulting to my left ear going numb and serious headache and my right knee,” wrote Gatwiri.

She added that she reported the incident at the Hardy Police Station, noting that this was not the first time Mulyungi had battered her.

“I managed to report the matter at Hardy Police Station. I fear for my life because he always threatened me that I really don’t know who he is. One time he told me to ask around who “Mulyungi is” This assault is not the first or second time,” she added.

The MP’s wife said she kept quiet all this while to protect her home and his anger condition. She, however, reached her tipping point after the Monday night incident.

“Enough is enough. His anger issue is always getting out of hand making me a target,” she said.

Gatwiri further claimed that the law-maker had also assaulted their housegirl and chef.

“The other day he assulted our house girl in our Mwingi home by slapping her and using his mkwaju stick on her, he also slapped our chef one old Mr. Kangangi who took the matter to the police.”

The tv presenter further explained that the Honourable Member of Parliament locked her up in the bedroom where he carried out the physical assault.

“I don’t know of my safety. Being locked up in the bedroom to be beaten is horrifying,” Gatwiri stated in another post.

Nairobi Wire understands that she has since filed a restraining order against the MP, with police opening investigations into the accusations.

Karen OCPD Cunningham Suiyanka noted they were waiting for Doreen to return her P3 form for action against Gideon Mulyungi.

“She reported the matter on Monday and was supposed to leave the hospital and come back to the station with her forms. We are waiting for them to kick of the procedures,” the OCPD said on Tuesday.

The MP is yet to address the issue.
