Opposition leader Raila Odinga has challenged Kenyan youth to take up exercising as he hit the gym early Sunday morning.
Raila, a well-known fitness enthusiast and weightlifter, was in the company of Mvita MP Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir at an unidentified gym in Mombasa.
In a short video shared by the legislator, a smiling Raila Odinga is seen calling on young people to wake up and hit the gym.
The former Prime Minister was echoing Shariff’s sentiments after the MP had said: “8 o’clock in the morning and I’m with Right Honourable His Excellency Raila Odinga in the gym. Wakenya wengine, vijana wadogo wadogo wanalala lala tu.”
Raila added: “Vijana amkeni kwenda kufanya mazoezi. Ni saa ya mazoezi.”
The clip excited netizens on Instagram as they expressed their delight in seeing 72-Year-Old Raila breaking a sweat at the gym.
The Mvita MP is also a popular source of inspiration for fitness enthusiasts having undergone a remarkable transformation since joining the gym over a year ago.
Odinga and a host of NASA leaders were at the coast on Sunday for the inauguration of the Coast People’s Assembly at Sun ’N’ Sand Beach Resort in Kilifi County.
