Residents of Nairobi’s affluent suburb, Karen, have had enough of Steve Mbogo and his helicopter.

The flamboyant businessman turned politician, whose source of wealth remains largely questionable, has been accused by members of the Karen Residents Association of causing disturbances with frequent chopper rides to his home.

In a letter dated 5th December and addressed to the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA), Karen Residents Association claims that members residing along Bogani road, Marula lane, and Karen road have lodged constant complaints against the Starehe parliamentary aspirant.

“Majority have recorded disruptions and disturbances on their peaceful and quiet livelihoods by Steve Mbogo’s use of helicopter at wee hours of the night and early morning. Steve Mbogo’s helicopter noise has affected their right to enjoy a comfortable night sleep and is continuing to inconvenience them and their families,” the letter reads in part.

The Association also noted that it has since reported the matter at Karen Police station under OB number 13/23/11/2017 but police have not been of much help.

Apparently, the controversial ODM member told the Karen OCS that he would only go to the station if there was enough space to land his chopper.

Also enjoined in the complaint are Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinett and Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko.
