Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino was once again involved in a public spat, this time with the police.

The controversial legislator and several other opposition MPs caused drama at the JKIA after they attempted to forcefully enter the precincts of the airport, for a press briefing.

While police insisted that the airport is a protected area, the defiant leaders led by Babu Owino, Siaya Senator James Orengo and Homabay Woman Representative Gladys Wanga, insisted, “we must assess the security of the airport ahead of the arrival of our leader Raila Odinga.”

A video of the brief altercation has emerged on social media, showing Babu Owino’s heated exchange with airport security.

In the short clip, Babu Owino can be heard asking the police; “Were You elected by any person?”

He adds: “This is a public place my friend. It is restricted to who? ”
