A female Kenya Defence Forces soldier is being held by military police for the murder of a male colleague in Kahawa Wendani, Kiambu County.

The 23-year-old suspect stabbed her 28-year-old counterpart in the chest and neck after a quarrel on Wednesday night. The victim died on his way to the hospital.

A police report indicates that the two, who were stationed at the Kahawa Barracks, picked up a quarrel before a fight ensued leading to the fatal stabbing.

Police are yet to establish what caused the fight between the two who lived outside the camp.

A knife was recovered at the scene and the body was moved to Memorial Forces Mortuary awaiting postmortem.

According to military law, the suspect is expected to be court-marshaled before being handed back to regular police for charges.
