Following Babu Owino’s insult directed at President Uhuru on Sunday, protests broke out in parts of Central. This led to his arrest on Monday, after which he was charged in a court of law.

On Wednesday, the court ruled that the Embakasi East MP be released on a Sh500,000 cash bail. It looked like it was all over. And then right outside the courtroom, Babu was re-arrested.

The charge this time round was violent acts he allegedly committed on August 8th. It was clear some very high powers were directing matters.

But Babu’s misfortunes do not end there. He now has to contend with Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, who went on a rant against him during one of Jubilee rallies on Wednesday.

In a video circulating on social media, Sonko used nasty, unprintable words against Babu. On top of using the same insults Babu used on the president, Sonko also called him ‘shoga’, taka taka, kumbavu etc.
