It’s the fourth day since the ban on plastic bags came into effect and Kenyans are still adapting to the new changes.
Since Monday, when the ban was effected, social media has been awash with the interesting alternatives Kenyans have adopted.
However, none of those can compare to what a certain high school student opted to use. With schools reopening earlier this week, the student appears to have been caught flat-footed by the new law.
She was spotted doing her back to school shopping with a biodegradable bag, sourced from the ‘shamba.’
The student was photographed at a supermarket in Nyeri and the pictures shared on social media. Even her teachers were impressed with her improvisation.
