‘Vote ODM Six-Piece or No S*x…Siaya Women’s Group Launch Initiative to Make Raila a Strong President

July 28, 2017

A group of women calling themselves SWAT – Sisters With A Target – has launched an initiative to rally women to deny their partners conjugal rights if they don’t support the six-piece ODM six-piece vote pattern.

The women from Siaya County said their core duty is to ensure NASA flag bearer Raila Odinga ascends to power with enough foot soldiers to defend his presidency.

Led by Irene Achieng, SWAT intends to tour the county in the remaining 12 days to advocate a clean ODM sweep in all elective positions.

Achieng said they will appeal to men to support the six-piece vote pattern so Raila does not become a weak president.

She said the initiative which targets to convert all men will see 99 per cent of registered voters turn out to vote in favour of ODM candidates.

“Initially, we had focussed on only the NASA presidential flag bearer, but it has dawned on as that Raila will be a weak President if he does not have the numbers in Parliament and the Council of Governors to back his administration’s policies,” said Achieng as quoted by the Star.

SWAT added that male converts will be at liberty to “ask their wives or girlfriends to grant them their conjugal rights anytime they wish until August 6”.

“Just like Baba said, we need to be energetic, sober and vibrant from August 7 to turn up en masse to vote on August 8 and secure our votes,” Achieng’ said.

The group accused Siaya men of being used as political puppets to cause chaos and urged them to respect Raila by adopting the party’s position.

Raila had earlier pushed for the six-piece voting pattern but has since said he has no problem with independent candidates in Nyanza as he needs votes despite people’s political affiliations.

“I want our people to focus on the bigger picture which is getting the Presidency. The small in-fights among us will not help us, instead, they’ll spoil what we want, ” Raila said on Monday.
