‘Feels Good to be Back,’ Says Janet Mbugua as She Takes Up New Gig

June 16, 2017

After quitting her lucrative TV job at Citizen TV, Janet Mbugua is on a new journey of what she calls her season of transition.

The popular media personality quit her news presenting job with the aim of laying low from the limelight but that has not been the case. She is back to doing what many media personalities transition to; hosting events.

Her first gig as an events emcee came earlier this week when she hosted the Telkom launch in Kisumu alongside comedian Dr Ofweneke.

Taking to social media, Janet wrote: “It feels good to be back hosting events. I’d begun to shy away from that, perhaps given my season of transition. I just wanted to lay low but, as many of us know, God’s plans aren’t always our own. Here’s to embracing what’s in you. Because if you don’t you may miss out on the next amazing chapter of your life.”

And it looks like the offers have started streaming in. A few days ago, she emceed and moderated at the World Refugee Day celebrations and panel discussion with UNHCR Kenya.
