A 27-year-old woman has been charged with murder after she allegedly stabbed her husband to death after he arrived home late from a drinking spree on Sunday dawn.

Mary Njeri was arrested and detained at Maralal police station after her neighbors found a blood-stained kitchen knife hidden under a pillow in their bedroom.

She claimed that her husband, 30-Year-Old Zachary Wambugu died as a resulting of injuries he sustained after attempting to jump through the fence.

Wambugu succumbed to the injuries while undergoing treatment at the Samburu county referral hospital.

According to neighbors who rushed to the scene, the woman wanted to chop off his manhood.

She was arraigned in a Nakuru high court on Tuesday but did not take a plea. Lady Justice Janet Mulwa ruled that the High court in Nakuru has no jurisdiction to handle the case.

She directed that the matter is transferred to Nanyuki High court since the offense was committed in Maralal.

The suspect is expected to take the plea on May 25.
