Dandora MCA Charged with 8 Counts of Robbery, Rape and Firearm Theft

Dandora Phase two member of county assembly Stephen Kambi was arraigned in court Tuesday and charged with 8 counts of rape, robbery with violence and illegal possession of guns.

Kambi and five other people allegedly stole two guns from the Buru Buru police station.

He is accused of using the two guns for robbery mainly in Kariobangi, Saika and Molewm areas in Nairobi.

The suspects are also accused of attacking a couple that was heading home in the wee hours of the night and raping a woman in Umoja estate.

Police recovered a gun before arresting the six suspects.

The MCA denied the charges and was granted Sh1 Million bail.

Corpral Osman Abdi from the office of the director of prosecution requested the court to remand the five suspects for seven days, to enable them complete investigations and to carry out the forensic audit on the available gun.

Chief magistrate Electa Liyiani remanded the suspects for five days at the Pangani Police Station.

They will be arraigned in court on 2nd May for the hearings.
