Governor Kidero’s Official Vehicle Stoned by Angry Youth in Kawangware

February 23, 2017

Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero’s vehicle was on Wednesday pelted with stones by irate youth in Kawangware slums, Nairobi.

According to reports, the angry youths felt shortchanged when Kidero refused to give them handouts after he left an Okoa Kenya function in Lavington area.

The incident also affected bodaboda operators who were also stoned, prompting them to follow Kidero demanding for compensation.

Kidero’s handlers blamed that attack on Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati. They said the youths wore t-shirts bearing the legislator’s name.

City Hall said that Kidero was not in the vehicle during the incident.

The incident comes barely a month after another similar incident in Dandora.

Three MediaMax journalists were injured when rowdy youth who were expecting handouts from Kidero stoned his convoy.

Kidero’s handlers blamed the incident on Nairobi senator Mike Sonko.
