One of Kenya’s most talented songbirds, Vivian, like many before her did not rise to the top of the charts by sheer luck.

The ‘Charm’ singer had a difficult past that until last week was unknown. On social media, the sultry musician shared details about her difficult past before she became a household name.

While paying tribute to her sister, Nancy, Vivian narrated how she used to hustle in the streets of Nairobi selling sim cards in a bid to make ends meet.

Luckily for Vivian, her sister Nancy was there to support her all through. Nancy graduated last week and Vivian was more than excited and grateful about the feat.

This was her post:

” I graduated!!!!!!!!
That’s not me. That’s my sister Nancy. We’ve grown up almost as twin sisters so we fight often 🙂
Nancy has really supported me especially when I was younger. She cared for me when I didn’t have a job. I remember when I used to hustle in promotion jobs, selling sim cards and products in the streets. Days when I would walk from the CBD to home in Eastlands and surviving on almost no meals on some days. Despite Nancy working in odd jobs all the while as she pursued her degree in medicine in Germany she managed to pay my school fees.
Praise be to the Almighty for how far he has brought us! Help me wish my lovely sister a Happy Birthday! God Bless you! I love you so much!‎”
